The Fair has been held in Macon since 1851 and has a long tradition of family entertainment ranging from its agricultural and artistic craft roots to its carnival midway atmosphere.

June 8 - 10 - Georgia Mountain Roots & Music Festival, Hiawassee - From traditional and progressive bluegrass shows to Americana and folk performances, attendees are immersed in a diverse range of music throughout the weekend. In addition to the lively musical acts, visitors will also be able to explore over 60 arts & crafts booths and catch a Canine Frisbee Show. June 9 - 10 - Sweetwater Creek Summer Festival, Lithia Springs - Come out and enjoy a day with family and friends in the woods. June 20 - 24 - Athfest: Music, Arts & Kids Festival, Athens - A non-profit annual music and arts festival that largely showcases the Athens area musical and artistic community. Much is free, while wristbands cover charges, and are required for certain events.
