October 7 - 13 - Daniel Boone Festival, Barbourville - The festival features a parade, queen contest, and a visit from the Cherokee Indians of North Carolina. A feast is held for the signing of the Cane Treaty between the Indians and Barbourville citizens. Other attractions are an arts and crafts fair, carnival, and much more.
